about
I was inspired to create this special jazzy arrangement of the Christmas Classic O Little Town of Bethlehem to celebrate all that makes Christmas jazzy, smoky, and special. Like the 3rd verse says, Christ is born!
lyrics
1 O little town of Bethlehem,
how still we see thee lie!
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep
the silent stars go by;
yet in thy dark streets shineth
the everlasting light.
The hopes and fears of all the years
are met in thee tonight.
2 For Christ is born, and lays in Mary's arms,
so gathered all above
while mortals sleep, the angels keep
their watch of wond’ring love.
O morning stars,
they all proclaim the Savior's holy birth,
as angels sing to Christ the King
and peace to men on earth; peace to all of earth
comes to Bethlehem.
[solos]
3 O holy Child of Bethlehem,
descend on us, we pray,
cast out our sin as we enter in,
breathe on us today.
We hear the Christmas angels
their glad tidings tell;
O come to us, abide with us, Emmanuel
O come to us, abide with us, Emmanuel
O come to us, abide with us, Emmanuel
Christ is born!
Christ is born!
Christ is born!
And now we behold the Savior of the world...
